Liam Gallagher On Depression I Do Not Need Therapy, John Lennon Is My Thing

Liam Gallagher has explained how he turns to the music of Beatles icon John Lennon whenever he needs a moment of solace.

Gallagher, who recently played a headline set at Lattitude Festival, was discussing his means of therapy whenever he needs to unwind from stresses of day to day life: “I have got John Lennon. Anytime I am in need, man, I just stick him on, all those dark clouds disappear. I do not need therapy. John Lennon is my thing”, he told Metro.

When asked about depression specifically, Gallagher was in a typically confident mood and answered: “‘Fuck that. Have you seen how I look? I am looking great.

“The minute I slip into depression I just have a quick look in the mirror.”

In other news, Gallagher played Oasis track ‘D’Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman?’ for the first time 22 years during his recent show at London’s Finsbury Park.

Having put together a setlist of Oasis’ classic back catalogue, Gallagher pulled out ‘D’Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman?’ for the first time live since the band’s iconic shows in 1996.

Having opened the headline set with ‘Rock N’ Roll Star’ and ‘Morning Glory’, Gallagher rolled through some fan favourites from his acclaimed solo album As You Were. With surprise support acts coming in the shape of Richard Ashcroft who played a short acoustic set, fans were treated to Shakermaker B-side track ‘D’Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman’ during the encore.
